Simple, efficient, effective, and best practice solution steps anyone can take if they are truly passionate about making a difference in the effort to combat human trafficking globally and locally. Pass this website along to everyone within your circle of influence and be sure to participate yourself: pause 12 times a month to engage in social media; make the sacrifice to donate $12 per month; and recruit at least 12 other people to engage ONLY12. Let’s do this! Why? Because lives are literally at stake!

This site is an example of simpler often being better on the web. The important things are clear and not jumbled as well as the message being easy to follow. Very nice.
I hope the event Friday sent people here. This is a helpful resource to spread this important message.

Really like what you have done with the website! I believe the picture on the homepage will hit peoples emotions quickly to make them quickly hit the donate button below and not to mention the great cause that it is helping. I get the updates on Facebook about the organization and spread the message on my social media cites!

This campaign add makes me more mad than it does compassionate; not because of the victims but because of the abusers. When they use to word “children”, it adds a rage inside you where you begin to think of the things you would do to someone who committed these crimes on an innocent child. The question I have for this organization is if it happens here as often as they claim how come it is not discussed more through the media. I enjoy watching the news daily and it is very seldom to hear of human trafficking. I personally don’t think that it occurs here often, not that it doesn’t, but it seems like homicides are more prevalent in our culture. I just can’t imagine how pathetic and desperate someone would be to do this to a child. However this article stands out more to me now that I have a child; it feels more personal and as a parent it is scary to imagine how many senseless people there are around us. It is nice to see organizations like this to remind us that there is still compassion in the world. One thing that grabs me to the organization is the fact they ask you to pray, as a Christian it pulls you in and feels as if you could identify yourself with this company very easily. It is awesome to see business proclaim their Christianity and makes me want to support them. I look forward to graduating and having the opportunity to help organizations like this and World Vision. No one will ever know the shoes those girls/boys have walked in and they need to be shown people care.

this story is just another reality of many children out there, especially females. The mental stage of this young girl for not having that person to follow her in life gives a psychological idea how she did not knew how to respond to such perverted offer by the person she think she trusted. The poor girl unaware of the reality of the real word was consumed, how the article informed, to a world of hell. It’s unbelievable the experience this girl had with her life and how made a worst transition of her mental, social and emotional life. all this derives from causes such as abortions or even suicides. This story makes me very irritated because of the fact that she is just a small kid, whose body is not even ready for such sex activity. The exposure this “boyfriend” did to the girl is not something a person can imagine getting his little 12 year girl do. His sickness and perverted mind lead him to such atrocious cause of selling her for money. Do you think this person is right on his mind? Don’t you think these person first needs to go to jail and then see a psychologist? . people need to check the reality of the world and be aware of the issues millions of kids are going through with events such as this ones that should be taken care of.

Stuff like this reminds me of the reason why I was so tough on my daughters, to know this goes on under our noses everyday and in our city is disturbing. I am so glad my daughters always listened to me, this breaks my heart for the families of the victims.

I know human trafficking takes place, it just seems, surprisingly, to be an issue people are not all too concerned with. It is a little baffling to me I had to hear about this story through a blog. I am not one to watch a lot of television, and am not even online often, but I would have thought a story such as this would have reached my ears by word of mouth, because lots of other people watch and listen to news. I mean, people tell me about other current events, which in light of this story, do not seem news worthy and I wonder why information about human trafficking is not more prevalent in the media.

We do hear about human trafficking and sexual exploitation of children! All of the time. Sure, it usually comes as a form of child pornography on some creep’s (who’s probably cleverly, if not sociopathically, disguised as a coach or community servant) computer . But really, you don’t think a lot, if not most of those children are victims of sex slavery? Law and Order has done this script a few times. It’s been recently aired on Dr. Phil. This is something that is always warned about to people traveling abroad (yep, even Mexico… especially Mexico)… How many more reminders do we need? Almost every time a prostitution ring gets busted- and if I’m not mistaken, it’s happened here in Kansas City a few times- there’s always an underage girl found to have been involved. Do you really think most young girls strive to be prostitutes? No, they don’t. Most of the ones that are now of age started way before the tender age of 18. Which, isn’t even an adult age, if you ask me. They’re lured by promises of money and love. Fed lies and drugs. Abused and dosed into submission. Made to be so strung out and drug dependent that they wouldn’t know which way out if there were an Exit sign marked.
To me, this says more about our priorities and attitude as a culture and society than it does anything else. We choose what we want to hear, thanks to social media. Everything is custom-catered to our wants. So we only hear about who’s hot, who’s not. We choose our news because we choose what is important to us. We choose to let the Big 3 networks control what we watch. So really, I think it’s someone’s own fault if they are ignorant to what happens in the world around them.
Yes, it’s a sick underbelly. Yes, it’s dark, disturbing and hard to deal with. All the more reason why we need to bring it to the light. So that it can’t happen. If WE made it more of a priority to support the cause, the lawmakers, law enforcers and agencies put in place to protect us and our children from this sort of thing. That’s exactly what Only 12 is trying to do. How many people are really going to forget what they read from this article? It’s simply put and easily pulls on heart strings, especially for parents (and no, I’m not). This is a cause that is close to my heart, but I’m just so surprised that it’s new news to others. I guess it is just proof in the pudding why so many continue to fall through the cracks. Kudos Only 12.

This story is absolutely heartbreaking. I will be sharing this information with my friends and re-posting the link as well. $12 dollars is such a minimal amount each month to donate for such a great cause. I love that the web site asks for prayer; it is something that everyone can do for free and it has such a HUGE impact!

  10. Monica says:

This is such a sad story yet this same thing is happening all over the world right now. Everyone has $12 to spare we just have our own priorities and selfish reasons for not donating. I am including myself. This is presented in a way that I would donate $1000 if I could.
